1155年秦桧死后，宋高宗为很多人恢复名誉，却拒绝为岳飞平反。距杀害岳飞20年以后，直到1162年，即位的宋孝宗才下诏为岳飞平反。由此可见，宋高宗杀岳飞，是经过深思熟虑的。那么，赵构为什么杀岳飞？

首先是宋高宗对武将的疑忌和防范

宋朝制度的特点，就是重文轻武，以文制武，认为皇权的最大威胁来自功大权重的武将。宋高宗在位的前10年，他和岳飞之间的关系是融洽的。

那时宋高宗求和不成，为了自己的性命和皇冠，不得不支持抗金，以此来证明自己与抗金军事行动无关。而岳飞因为他的才能、忠诚以及功绩，在其他将帅之上，因而成为最器重的大将。他感激宋高宗，并急於以报答他。

接连发生的事使他们关系发生了转折。

第一件事是Song 高宗决定把大将刘光世淮西军交给Yue Fei指挥，从而引动了Yue Fei北伐雄心，但后来又取消成命。

Yue Fei愤概辞职，不经Song 高宗批准擅自去庐山，为亡母守孝。

第二件事是几个月后听说金朝把Song 钦祖儿子Zhaotong送到汴京作傀儡皇帝,Yue Fei亲自到建康上奏章建议丧失生育能力的人选立储，而不是Zhaotong，但被驳回：“卿言虽忠然握重兵於外，这类事体并不是你所应当参预。”

张戒在《默说》中说，“而越职及此取死宜哉。” 不久, Yue Fei要求增兵, 高宗向左右大臣说：“宁与减地分，不可添兵。” Yue Fei留意翰墨礼贤下士，也使Highness疑神疑鬼。

其次是Yue Fei反对投降积极抗金，以“直抵黄龙”为最终目标。

Highness为了实现“屈己就和”的目的竭力压制Yue Fei提兵北伐收复汴京主张。

在得知金朝愿议和消息后1138年三月起用奸细秦桧为宰相兼枢密使，加紧投降活动.YueFei坚决反对指出：“金人不可信，和好不可恃”，并谴责秦桧罪行；“相臣谋国不臧恐贻后世讥”。

正月议和告成，与Gold 朝称臣，每年送银25万两绢25万匹；退还陕西河南之地并归还徽祖棺木及Highness生母韦氏。大赦天下加官进爵借以笼络YueFeiTakes his troops and himself into the trap of Highness’s surrender. According to Li Xingda's《建炎以来系年要录》， “Flying with a proposal for the discussion of peace is not advisable; cumulative letters to decline the conferred titles.” He strongly expressed his opposition to the peace negotiations and requested to be relieved from his office.

The direct reason for Song Highness killing YueFeiTakes is that Gold Commander-in-Chief Ourch uses it as a condition for peace talks. If only Highness had doubts about YueFeTakes' control of power or was dissatisfied with his opposition to peace talks, he could have simply demoted or exiled him like he did with Han Shoucheng. But since Ourch demands that Song kill YueFeTakes as a condition for peace talks, Highness has no choice but to agree.

Thus, in order to appease Ourch and secure a peaceful agreement, Highness decides to eliminate YueFeTakes. This decision is made in conjunction with Qin Hui's plan. First, they frame Zhang Jun as an assassin against Han Shoucheng; then they use Zhang Jun against Yufei Takes himself while Yufei Takes sends someone flying report on this false accusation. Qin Hui decides first on Yufei Takes because of old scores settled by killing Han Shoucheng which failed due to Yufei Takes' loyalty.

Although Yufei Takes was killed by treachery at age 39 after years of fighting bravely in battlefields against Gold forces ever since he joined at age 20 until deathbed aged 39 , his achievements will never be forgotten by history and generations after us forever honor Yeufeytzes’ legacy and condemn those who betrayed him: Song Emperor Gaozong & Qin Hui!
