Dynasty, often referred to as the "Golden Age of Chinese Painting" and "The Song Dynasty," was a period of great cultural flourishing in China. However, it also marked the beginning of the end for this dynasty as corruption and war weakened its foundation.

The Yuan Dynasty, established by Kublai Khan after his conquest of southern China in 1279 AD, brought about significant changes in society and politics. As an alien dynasty ruling over Han people, it faced resistance from all sides.

The Ming Dynasty began with Zhu Yuanzhang's ascension to power following the collapse of Mongol rule in 1368 AD. This period is characterized by relative peace and prosperity under Hongwu Emperor's rule.

By the late Ming period (1573-1644), however, corruption had become rampant among officials; foreign invasions threatened national security; economic crisis loomed due to inflation caused by excessive minting of coins; while peasant uprisings became more frequent as land shortages increased amidst population growth.

In 1644 AD, Li Zicheng led a rebellion that toppled the Ming government just before Manchu forces arrived at Beijing's gates under Prince Dorgon's command—thus marking the establishment of Qing Dynasty which lasted until 1912 AD when Sun Yat-sen declared Xinhai Revolution against them.

During its final years (1850s-1911), Qing saw numerous internal conflicts including civil wars such as Taiping Rebellion (1850-1864) which was one of history's deadliest conflicts ever recorded with approximately 25 million deaths involved in total casualties during both sides combined along with other rebellions like Boxer Rebellion or Nian Rebellion etc., external threats from European powers pushing for concessions & control over Chinese territories through unequal treaties signed without proper negotiation resulting into humiliation for China internationally speaking.
